Hey folks,

am about to change my brakes and was reading up on some old posts and am thinking about getting the rs4 22mm sway bar and some steel brake lines. i think these two things would improve the car a little. Any suggestions and feed back if anyone has done the same upgrades...thnks

i have an 07 A4t. i didnt do anything with break lines but i did do the RS4 rear Sway bar and for the money i found it was a nice improvement. i paid $140 for the sway bar, $12 for the bushings and $50 for install i think... would do it again.

A rear anti-sway bar will be a very noticeable mod if you drive even somewhat aggressively. It is bar-none the biggest bang-for-the-buck mod out there. That alone won't eliminate understeer, but it will drastically reduce it. Getting most modern vehicles to the point of truly neutral handling is a huge task, usually involving corner-balanced suspension, anti-sway bars, bushings, tires, specific alignment settings, etc.

The brake lines on modern VAG vehicles are quite stiff, and you will be very hard-pressed to notice a difference with 'upgraded' lines. You're much better off spending this money on better pads, race fluid, and a good power bleeder.
