Should I buy the Audi Assured extended warranty?

Should I buy the Audi Assured extended warranty?
Classic dilema:
I'm buying out my 2005 S4 which comes off its 3-year lease in 4 weeks time. Do I buy the Audi Assured extended warranty? (2 yrs/40000km cost $2,400).
Car has only done 30000km.
Original warranty will last for 1 more year (expires March 2009).
There's a fair chance I'll be selling it late 2008/early 2009.
So, I would likely not benefit from the extended warranty.
However, I know it would help the car sell.
But does it really make economic sense?
Look at it from a buyer's perspective:
- Selling price w/out extended warranty $30k
- Selling price with extended warranty $32k
If you were a private buyer, would you pay an extra $2k to get a low-mileage car with Audi extended warranty?
I assume independent warranties would be a cheaper option to a private buyer.
Of course, there's always the risk that I'm forced to sell the car to an Audi dealer but not sure if they would really give me any extra for the warranty.
Struggling to make a decision……..opinions much appreciated.

My opinion, I'd rather purchase a vehicle with maintenance records up to date and less expensive, rather than with an extended warranty. You have a year of warranty, perhaps plan the sale date just before it expires.

Yo I'll buy it off you when you are ready to sell, let me know and where are you located?!!! Dont buy the warranty, you can sell the car only for as much as the buyer wants to pay and 2 g's for warranty I would totally opt out cuz I can fix the car myself for 2g's if it breaks down in most cases! But seriously I will buy it off you

Wow - now that's the quickest sale I've ever seen. Braveheart hasn't received his vehicle yet and has already sold it....Way to go Braveheart!! Sad to see you leave, but I hear Scotland is absolutely stunning.

VW/Audi warranties are not worth the paper they are written on.
My wife owned a 1.8T Beetle in Yellow, so yeah I NEVER drove it. It was CPO at 2 years old with 18k on it. We drove it to 34k and the tranny blew in it. VW pulled it apart and said it was my wife abusing the car or me abusing the car that did the damage. They cited hot spots on the flywheel as the proof it was abused.
For anybody who does their own work they know a flywheel will get hot spots and marks on it even with normal driving no matter what you do to try and baby the car especially if you do a lot of stop and go driving creating a lot of friction on the clutch (ie heat)...
So they are telling my wife that the whole $3900 repair bill was her problem and they wouldn't do anything about it.. She is in the dealership crying cause they are basically pointing the finger at her saying she is the reason when I know that is not the case.
So after she's done wiping the tears from her eyes she threatens to sue them. They called in some guy from head office that adjudicates these types of problems. Again she threatened court to him. His answer was well, the court sees the life of the car as 160k you have 35k so thats means you have only used the car 20% of its service life. You will pay 20% of the repair cost and we will pay 80%. That or take the car out and sue us was the final answer.
I called head office and they basically told me to go F myself and wouldn't put me to anybody else on the phone etc.. Honestly it was the worst experience ever from a car manufacturer. VW should be ashamed for how they treated my wife and myself. The dealership was good about it but didn't do a damn thing to help us really. We ended up paying 20% of the cost out of our pocket. The car had a warranty "bumper to bumper" obviously covering the power train and they denied.
The best part is one day during a routine oil change the mechanic drove the car into the hoist so hard it popped the tire on the car. 2 hours later my wife is asking whats going on and they explain the situation to us. Then a month later the tranny issue happens. We bought that up to VW but they said the two were unrelated and it was my wife that abused the tranny. Yeah right.
Honestly it was just a really bad situation, so in the end I will buy the product, but not from VW and will never pay for one of their "warranties". I know people always think, must have been more to that story, or whatever. Really there wasn't and it was just straight up games and BS from them. Pretty sad really...
