hey guys this just started yesterday with my b6 a4 I was driving slowly in 2nd i think and my car just randomly sped up very quickly to the point where I almost lost control-very scary! I put the car in neutral and it redlined somehow? and this has happened 3 other times since then. I just had my fuel pump replaced last week so I dont know if it could have anything to do with that . I love this car but I have like 4 days left on my warrenty and I think it's time to move on maybe I just bought a lemon but this is starting to wear pretty thin

Some 20-25 years ago AUDI had a MAJOR issue with this kind of behaviour (uncontrolable surge of power without driver intervention) and it damn-near killed the credibility of the company!

There were fatalities and law-suites!

There was never a publicised oputcome but the product line has evolved to where it is now!

I can only speculate that you check to make sure that the pedal does not get hanged into the carpeting or something silly like that.

Next it MIGHT be a defective throttle positioning motor (sensor)... or even a ECU (Electronic Control Unit = COMPUTER) gone bad...

I can suggest that telling the dealer that you have this problem and that you have heard of their past issues; that in combination with a forcefull call to AUDI of America/Canada might get them to do a serious diagnostic on your car.

I believe that your car's ECU has logging capabilities: logs events in its memory and they can be retrieved, like a Black Box.

ooh ok thanks alot for the info! my buddys dad was just telling me about how they had that problem in the past I just thought they would have figured it out by now haha! but ya its pretty scary I just have the ruber winter mats so I dont think it could be caught on anything there but I'll have to make the call tomorrow
