Oil Level warning light!!!

Re: Oil Level warning light!!!
Are you sure it's the oil-level light, and not the oil-pressure light, that's on? When you say you replaced the harness, what exactly do you mean? I can't imagine that you mean the entire vehicle harness...

Re: Oil Level warning light!!!
If it's level warning and NOT a sensor warning, it might also be related to hood's lock; well, it might sound strange but ECU suppose to track each hood's opening (as I remember you need to keep it open for 30 sec) so ECU assumes you have checked or added oil and warning will be off for next 100km, at least.
So if you open your hood for 30 sec, close it and warning is still on you may need to check a hood's lock sensor.

Well, personally I didn't have that happen on my car, but I read on other forums about that, there are defenitely some connections between hood latch and oil level warning ..

Re: Oil Level warning light!!!
Yes it is the level not the pressure. I replaced the wire connectors to the Level sensor because it was thought that the connection was bad.
The hood lock light might have some truth to it because when I fill up my washer fluid the light goes off...which would mean the hood was up for more than 30 seconds. But the light does come back on again after a bit.
Is there some way I can jump this wire so this warning light never comes on? Or what else can I do to fix this that won"t cost me a arm and a leg?
Thanks for the replies!!
