no boost
Hi guys,
I was driving back tonight and off the ramp on the highway, pushed the pedal and my audi did not produce any boost. There was very little at around 2.5K rpm (could hear the swoosh noise), but once past that stage, zero. I heard a low-pitch horn noise when the car was suppose to produce boost.
This was the same sound that I heard a few months back when I replaced my DV. That solved the issue (there was a hole in it)... and I was thinking that it's impossible for another hole to have opened up on the DV.
What do you guys think? Could it be a counter-part that works with the DV that is damaged/broken?
No boost, no fun. Felt like I was driving a civic all the way back.

Re: no boost
no go guys?
I was looking inside to see if any cables/hoses were broken, but everything seems to be in place.
I did see a leak on one of the hoses, some fluid stains. Does that mean anything?

Re: no boost
I had a similar problem with my 04 WRX. The problem turned out to be a valve on the turbo that is designed to release pressure. It think it's called a blow off valve (or something like that). Either way, it was stuck partially open and all the boost was escaping. Maybe you have a similar problem.

Re: no boost
I had a similar problem a few months ago with a hole in my diverter valve.
My mechanic replaced the entire unit, and everything was perfect until now.
The noise is similar, but boost loss is far more now. It is probably some cable, so I hope.
Last thing I want to do is replace the turbo.
Should I be driving the car now? It is in limp mode. Very little boost.

Re: no boost
if you changed it to a stock one that ends in part number 710P, then yes, you jsut blew another one. If your going to go to stock, ONLY go with a 710N. MAKE SURE OF THIS. the dealership tried to sell me a 710P which will not work.
