I am looking at a 2004 A4 quattro 6spd with the sport and premium packages, it has 100k on it but the dealer selling it does not know if the timing belt has been done, he also does not have any service records for it and says he cannot get them for me because of a privacy act...is there any way to find out what services have been done to a car? apparently it was a one owner lease vehicle. I can buy it for $16000 but I am a bit nervous that the dealer has no past info on the car, I have not seen the car yet but I am told it looks like brand new, also how can I tell if it really has the premium and sport packages (what options do they include)?

Take the VIN # and go to an Audi dealer and ask them to look up the service records they will do it for you.

Or talk to the seller and state that there is no deal unless you get the service records, also dont rush into it. Check the car fax I paid $50 at AMA for accross Canada report, and it came up clean. I took the vin # the dealer refused to provide the info, and after a long talk and telling them that the car will be serviced at the dealer and i am a first time audi buyer blah blah blah....they printed it and cut out the previous owners information. I would tell the seller that if he wants to sell the car to me the only way I will sign the contract is by providing the correct information and upon my approval/satisfaction the car will be sold.

Forest green colour, tan leather with carbon fiber trim. Very clean in & out.
The ad wants $6000. I was thinking $4000. Let me know if its a good deal.
