Default Musty Smell

I have a serious problem with a musty, dirty sock odor that come from the vent everytime I turn on the AC. I've tried two products that I spray into the vent to remove the smell but there is very little improvement. Should I spray lysol in the fresh air intake box located under the hood? Could this cause any damage to the AC unit? Any suggestions? HELP!!!

check your cabin filter. Some times those things get facked. I replaced mine last month and that thing had everything on it...

Dealer should know how to handle this - it's a common problem and has to do with mold buildup in the vent tubes. (I remember VW had a TSB for this, so if the Audi folks shrug you could always call a VW dealer to see if they're any more with it). There's a spray they can shoot into there that will clean it up.

I had the same issue a month ago, the dealersip wanted $200 to spray some crap in. I was told just to turn the A/C off a few minutes before the parking the car i warmer weather, the sudden change in temp causes condensation in the vents. Could have been bs but the smell is gone now.....
