Can someone point me out a writeup on how to remove the console trim please?

Ok I've proceeded to the extraction of the buttons as follow :
First of all, look how bad are the buttons :
Since I've already replaced my newly-blown (yeah.. wtf!) radio, I already got the removal tools.
Radio removed
It's fairly easy to remove the bottom part, two clips on the top of it, in the back
Nothing broken yet !!
Now the disassembly
I've decided to remove the wheels too because I'll paint the trim finally.
Hope reinstall will be okay !!
Trim will be sanded down and painted too
Coming up next... the painting process and reinstall the whole thing.

First layers of spray...

good job man! my buttons are like that as well. look around the cigarette lighter, as i believe smoking may cause this. im pretty sure the previous owner of my A4 was a smoker. the lighter looks well used.

Today I'll plug the whole thing back in, I've completed the work. I took pictures and will send them!
For the moment, what I can tell is if I would have to start over again, I would just completely paint over the red and blue buttons, without trying to recreate a "+" and a "-". Because the final result is not bad, but not as professionnal as the rest of the console.
Plus, be prepared to paint ALL buttons too, because of the difference of paint vs the original paint. Even at 30$ the paint that I specially have prepared for this job was not exact so I had to paint ALL buttons.
For the others which were intact, I simply put on some black tape veeeery precisely cut just to cover the text/symbol and the little top corner light.
Plus of course the trim, which was a real pain to sand!
Now concerning post no.5 in this thread, I NEED to know if someone else with a Symphony II is able to press twice to get an AUX display on the screen!

FINAL THOUGHTS OF THE PROJECT :
Here is the results of all this :
Honnestly, I am a perfectionnist and I did not have the quality I expected. Here are a few points that are unsatisfying :
- It's quite hard to sand down to perfection the trim, even with grit #150, then 200, then 400
- The paint, even at 30$ is not the same, and under bright light it is visible
- The "+" and "-" and not as good as "perfect"
- Concerning those + and -, I would paint them all without the symbol, I it was to be done again
- I had to do all the buttons because of the difference in the paint

Even though it wasn't a 10/10 in your eyes I think you did a pretty solid job. Thanks for sharing. I see what you mean about the difference in paint. Seems more shiny, eh?
