Default malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)

Hi

I was driving and suddenly the MIL turned on. The car also started to vibrate and then smooth, and then vibrate again. I read that I should bring it into a car service station. Do you know anyone who have had the same issue and brought it to a non-Audi dealership? Please recommend and thank you! If not, I will have to bring it to Audi Is it always more expensive?

Many thanks, in advanced!!!

Sounds like it might be your coil packs

hi, I have the same problem.
My code reader tells me its PO302, cylinder 2 misfire.

I assume its the coil packs. ^

I'll try and replace it myself. But why question is, can I only replace one and not the other 4?
Should I replace the other 4?
Also is it just replacing the coil pack? or do I have to replace the spark plug?

Just replace the coil pack, however with Audi usually when one goes its time for the others as well, it is up to you if you want to replace all 4 or just the one, but the others will give pretty shortly if they havent been replaced.

Thanks for the Info.
I've been reading up on this problem and some say Audi has a recall on Ignition Coils.
So I called in a local audi and they said there was a recall on my Audi and they can replace the coils for free. (hopefully theres no hidden fees, or other work)

So I booked an apointment and should be able to get them fixed in a week.

Butterscotch, I bought my ODB reader online from dealextreme.
It was only 20 bucks, free shipping and all. Highly Recommended.
