Lubro Moly and Mann Filter Help
Okay so I found a place locally that sells the Lubro Moly 5w40 100% synthetic and Mann Filters. I just wanted to know what I need to make sure before purchasing them, like what do I need to make sure the bottle says and what specific words do I need to look for on both these items? I drive a 2004 Audi A4 1.8T Q automatic. I know there's a lot of threads about which oil/filter is best but I just wanted to know what I need to make sure before purchasing them.
Also would you say these prices are okay?
Mann Filter - $9.95 + tax
Lubro Moly 100% synthetic 5w40 5L $59+ tax

Re: Lubro Moly and Mann Filter Help
Great price on the filter, what is the cost of the oil?
The oil should have a VW502 something rating on the label. I have used Lubro Moly before and it is considered a high end oil brand. JHM Motorsport which does extensive tuning and racing of the 4.2 S4 models use Lubro Moly exclusively.
So go for it.

Sorry I fixed my first post, the oil is $59+tax.
So basically if the Lubro Moly says 5w40 100% authentic vw502 rating I'm good to go? How about the filter? Does it have to be a special model of filter, because when I searched it there were different Mann Filters, which specific model do I need?
I can barely see the pic it's quite tiny!!
Thanks for the quick reply!

Re: Lubro Moly and Mann Filter Help
You do pay a little extra for the MANN filter over the OEM one. I change my oil more often than recommended so I choose to go with the OEM filter which is just fine. If I were to go the 12 or so K between changes rather than the 7-8 now than for sure I would spend the little extra and go for the MANN.
Any one of the MANN filter would do. The kit I am showing you is for the 4.2 S4. BTW I think the price on the oil is too much. Try shopping around or PM audimontreal who was able to find it much less.

Check out JHM at the following link JH Motorsports Inc.
They sell oil change kits that are reasonable and deliver to you front door within a few days. Be prepared to pay duty and some shipping but I found that the price was still reasonable.

Thanks a lot for this, I'm having trouble with the site though, it refuses to load after I add to cart. I'll try when I get home, I'm at work right now. Also, I can't find any oil kits for A4's are they only available for the S4?

Re: Lubro Moly and Mann Filter Help
Okay just checked out the website and the cost of shipping (without taxes) is already more than the price the place I can get them locally, I will see if I can find anywhere cheaper. Thanks a lot for the recommendation, much appreciated.
