Default looking at buying 2005 a4

Hey I'm new here, looking at picking up a 2005 A4 quattro 6spd, just checking to see if theres anything I should really be on the lookout for, I know the timing belt needs to be done around 120k and the car has 115k, it was serviced at the local audi dealer until about 70k but thats all I know, any major problems and any good shops in Winnipeg mb that you can recommend me to get the timing belt done at if I pick this car up

watch for the a/c compressor, some sensors, and get the timing belt done ASAP.

Best to take it to someone with a VAG-COM and make sure there are no major fault codes.

what kind of a/c comp issues?? just seizing in general or is there something to prevent the compressor from failing, the timing belt would get done soon as it warms up here

the a/c compressor tends to go after 4-5 years in the b6 models, there's many different stories with it but make sure your pressure is right on high/low sides. Timing belt wise, I'd say don't wait till the spring. I would get it done asap if I was buying the car.

Were you looking at an "Early" A4 (B6) or the "Late" A4 (B7) and which power plant were you considering? There are big differences between these models so therefore issues of reliability and safety varies as well as body styling.

Mona: Actually yeah good thing you mentioned that! There was two models produced in the 2005 production year which were the B6's (2005) and the B7's (2005.5). I believe the B6 models in 2005 had the oil sludge problem solved (that's what Audi says) but the B7 models have a carbon build up issue. It would be great if you also posted what engine displacement you were looking at: 1.8T, 2.0T, 3.0, 3.2.

the car is a 2005 b6 1.8t 6spd m/t, even tho the timing belt has not been done yet I think I will still pick this car up and get it changed out asap and just pay the $1500 at the dealer to have it done.

You could try to include the timing belt job in the deal maybe?
