Default Help with codes please

Hi all,

I own a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T with 90,000km on it. Last week I got the timing belt and water pump replaced at the Audi dealership in Mississauga. Last two days I noted a lack of acceleration on the car. While idling the car would some times idled higher and sometimes lower and was erratic while idling. Some one suggested high Octane fuel so I put in sunoco ultra 94 Octane fuel over 1/2 tank 91 Octane ESSO fuel that I had. After about two km's check engine light came on.

I got the codes read and these are

4 tdc found

18062 - Check TDC memory of Instrument cluster P1654 - 004 No signal/communication - Interm

17519 - Oxygen (lambola) sensor regulation bank 1. system too lean.

16891 - Idle control system RPM: higher than expected. P0507 -001 upper limit exceeded.

17544 - Fuel trim bank 1 system too lean P1136 -001-Upper limit exceeded - Mil ON

The garage is not sure about the first code but is sure that two of these codes are due to Vaccum leak and is checking for one.

Please help.

Have you tried clearing the codes first and seeing what comes back?
I had some issues like this and it went away once they were cleared after the new parts were put in.

I would try this first and then come back with the updated codes. It does not sound like they will all clear but a "true" scan you should clear any codes that were already in memory and run the car again and see what comes back.

This is your first step

The garage checked for Vaccum leak and came up with broken crank case vent valve diagnosis. They are going to replace it on Monday. Now the car has a very noticeble rough idling. Hope replacing the valve helps.

1 move thanks for your reply. I will clear the codes on monday and see if any other code comes back.

salsiddiq, I can't offer much help, but I hear yah... I would be in a panic if I was in your shoes, all that funky stuff happening to my car.

Best of luck with the garage in replacing those valves, I really hope it fixes the problem,...

Let us know...
