Help with B6 A4 heat...
Been driving around the last few days and noticed that when the climate control is not on im still getting hot air coming into the cabin.. is there a reason for this? I don't think its my coolant as ive recently replaced and it appears to be in between the min and max line... anyone have any ideas? or is it supposed to be doing that? also looking for rims in toronto area if anyone has any links i would really appreciate (looking for 17,18" gunmetal colour)... thanks.

Well coolant has little to do with it, and no if your car is on, coolant tank sometimes will look half empty and it has little with ac .AC uses its own liquid, are you trying to say that your AC doesn't work? Climate control will adjust heat and cold depending on the temperature inside the car.

Hey Genekam.. the AC/heater is not on... when driving around it feels as though the heater is on because there is a steady stream of heat coming from the vents into the cabin... i don't think its from the 35 degree temps we are having outside...

Suggest scan the car.
From your description it sounds like the mechanical flap for the heater core inside the dash is malfunctioning. If so then it should be reported in a VAG Scan.

I see your problem, check around some of your local shops and see if they can do a scan it takes a few minutes and i dont think that would cost too much. That shouldn't happen, i have seen something like this in old toyotas, but hey in old toyota its expected.
