ESP and ABS light came up
Hey Audiforum Gang!!
Something unusual happened to me Yesterday. I turned the car on as usual and had the OK light, no warnings lights. After about 10mns on the road I made a left and both the ABS and ESP lights went on. They stayed on until I reached my destination 40kms later. As I drove to work this morning they did not come back on. The car has no trouble braking (no shaking or anything like that). I know that my rotors need to be replaced in a few thousand kms.
Anybody had that happen before? Do you guys think my brakes are about to give up on me?

Suggest a diagnostic scan of your Audi. It is likely there is an intermittent fault developing in the ABS system. The scan results will verify for you as there will be at least one DTC stored for awhile after the event you described.

Re: ESP and ABS light came up
^ If you come to the meet tonight at Commerce Gate (check the GTA forum), I'm sure someone will have a vagcom. If you don't already have one that is.
Hard to tell. But the fact that it happened when you turn on the car, and not in motion makes me think it might have to do with the sensors going or not happy with the cold.

not 100% sure but it could possibly be a steering angle sensor failure. usually comes back up in a few months even if you erase the codes... (if it is the SAS) Parts are around 500-600 dollars with an a hour and a half labour. They gotta remove your steering column and airbag to get to it. But scan it with a vagcom first before anything. that'll tell you what it is.
