engine shaking / check engine off-on / car accelerates slower

Hi guys,

As said in subject my engine is shaking / check engine off-on / car accelerates slower.

Im getting an apointment for this but any ideas ?

Its an a4 2004 1.8t

Maybe you are in limp mode due to some other issue?

Could be a number of things - either get someone with a VAG to read the codes or wait for your appontment. My money is on either a bad coil pack or a boost leak.

Akula may be right... it sounds like a mis-fire... you may only be running to two cylinders. If it is, replace all your ignition coils, not just the mis-firing ones.. otherwise it'll domino on the rest of your coils...

yea my 96 2.8 a4 is doing exactly that rite now too i was told it might be the coilpack or spark plug, usually always an electrical problem with misfires

ye i have an 01 A4 and it was doing the same thing as you said, and the reason was that the coilpacks blew. thankfully they are not that expensive to replace.
