Default ECU tuning headaches - Help!

went in for an APR trial on the long weekend. when the dealer flashed my ecu, he told me that the ecu had previously been modified.

how do i find out what mod is on there? i dont want to spend the money to get the APR flash if there is existing APR/REVO/GIAC software on there

I emailed giac and revo, doubt they will reply. anyone have any ideas?

Phone local dealers with the vin and ask for a car history. Usually on the report they cross out the name with a black marker but you can still see it how I find out about my cars history at least

It's possible your VIN won't be registered with any of the flash program manufacturers. A lot of people part out their ECU's and sell them off on ebay or whatever.

You could try finding a stock ECU somewhere to buy (for cheap hopefully).

i founnd the dealership that sold the car... it was out of quebec. no one speaks english well enough to understand what im asking for.

anyone know what software has an on/off functionality? maybe i can narrow it down from there. it has to be something that can be switched on and off, cause the car is definately driving like stock now.
