I'm not sure what its really called, but I think the subject sounds like a good name for it.
My 2004 A4 1.8L Avant FWD is considered the basic model, however I do have the leather interior package.

The drivers information system computer appears to be a slimmed down version, as I do not have full functionality, or have the buttons on the end of my wiper control stalk.
I am familiar with the obvious dfifferences between the two as my father drives a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro sedan, and he has the full luxury package in his.

Does anyone know the specific difference's between the two computer models, such as what features should be included in the advanced computer, compared to the lower end computer?

For example, something I noticed is after my accident (https://www.audiforum.ca/a4-b6/64772...ear-ended.html) is there was no notification on the display that a tail light was out. As you can see from the photos, the passenger side tail light, and break light were gone, the turn signal however was still working.

I also don't appear to be getting a warning light when the windshield washer reservoir is low.

During both of these cases, I had expected to see a warning of some sort on the display.

Are the differences documented anywhere online? I don't recall seeing this in the owners manual, and my manual is in the car at the shop at the moment getting repaired.

What is the proper "official" name for this unit anyways?
