Default Cricket in my back seat

In the last several months I have noticed an intermittent squeak coming from somewhere near the back of the car (interior). I’m not sure if my excitement around buying the car lead me to miss it (I’ve had it for just over a year).

The car is immaculate 2003 B6 Avant that just rolled over 100K. Although the 3.slo doesn’t have as much punch as I would fantasize, I still really love the drive (fully loaded sport package).

Anyone ever get this little cricket like squeak? Mostly I hear it when going over small bumps or especially notice it driving over washboard type potholes.

I’ve tried removing the spare tire/jack etc. Seats up or down, with the rear divider in and out, child seat in and out… none of it seems to effect. I don’t really want to pull the interior apart, it’s not that loud, and I don’t think ALWAYS there.

Let me know if anyone else has had this issue.

Try putting duct tape on the metal posts where the rear seats strike when you fold them back up. That solved my problem.
