cranking sound from front wheels
Hi, when I'm turning my car at very slow speed or a parked car, I hear some cranking sound like a jammed spring is being twisted/stretched. the sound is a bit louder if the car is cold or parked for a long time. I don't hear any sound while going through bumps or pits.
Anything serious??
Any expert advises..

Wouldn't be U-Joints, but a CV Joint maybe. I am assuming it is when you turn fairly tight? Is there any noise/vibration at higher speeds?

Re: cranking sound from front wheels
i had that happening, cv joint most likely....if you catch it quick and you dont drive for too long with it like that you can fix it quite cheap...just get a cv joint boot and change it....make sure you take out the old grease clean it well and replace with plenty of grease...sound will go away....just did that yesterday on my car...
