First thing I would do is check all fluids. If that isn't the problem make sure your car isn't over heating. I understand that when the check engine light comes on and everthing looks to be ok then you are probably good until you get it to service. However, if the engine check light comes on and blinks then your in trouble.

Perhaps someone more technical can verify that. If your car is still running well and all fluids are ok you should be fine for the weekend.

Hey thanks that's what I was thinking however I drove the car this morning and I don't know if its just me but I felt that the car had a bit of a trouble to pick up speed, had to accelerate a little harder and also it seems to be vibrating a little when I'm idle... This is getting me worried!

I am not a mechanic however it does sound like it could be one of the sensors causing the ecu to be thrown off. Again, if all fluids are ok your should be ok until you get it checked out.

Hopefully someone more technical will respond to this thread and confirm.

Let me know how it woirks our?

Didn't think of the coil packs...good thought. If it is the coil packs than the car should not be driven as unburned fuel will cause problems in the engine.

Check engine light when it comes on we allways freak out but i would not worry as you just have to call your dealer and they will fix your problem and as you say your going to see your dealer next week so i think you will be ok ..

As for asking the question on the forum you will get all different answers and people should remember its not because you had a problem when your light came on that he will have the same problem as you .

I had another car before and drove the car for about 4 years with the light on as the problem i had was the computer and i did not want to put an extra 1800 Dollars for the piece plus work which i had to pay over 2000 dollars and never had any problem driving around .

No offense but especially when my engine light turns on in my Audi i do freak. yes sometimes it might turn on for no apparent reason like the fuel cap not secured tightly. Personally i try to get it checked out ASAP!!!! thats why i had to pay $2100 to replace my TCU, because i should have maybe got it checked out before instead of having to look at the stupid engine light for over a year!! who knows what all i might have damaged by driving with dirty tranny fluid and messed up TCU.

just my thoughts, if engine light turns on, i get it checked, i hate that little orange light!!!

No flashing the light just stays on.... I did have a coil pack go on me couple of months back and I know how it feels, the car vibrated alot more when the coil pack went and the check engine light was flashing. I got all four coil packs replaced since there was a recall. I'm going to my service guy first thing monday morning, hope its nothing big.
