Exclamation Check Engine Light

So I just filled up gas the other day and my check engine light came on. It was on for a few days and has now gone off. Since my car is still under warranty, I made a service appointment with Audi so they could see what the problem was. My question is, do you think I should still go ahead with the appointment or just leave it because the light has since gone off.

Thanks

go ahead with the appointment because i think it stores the problem and they can check and see what it was. That happened to my a4 and then i took it in for service and they ended up servicing a part on the car. Also my friends a4s camshaft went and his engine light went off and the audi dealer found it and replaced his camshaft free since it was under warranty.

Keep the appointment, your engine will store the codes.

Any chance you may have left the car running while filling? or forgot to tighten the gas cap all the way? That commonly throws a code after a fill-up.

So I'm having a similar problem. I went to start my car the other night and when I fired it up the CEL was flashing and the engine sounded like it was mis-firing. I thought it might be the coil packs again because it has this same problem back in the summer. I went and had a look at her again last night and when I started the car the CEL was solid, and everything sounded ok. No more mis-fires. I know that one of the seals on the camshaft is leaking a bit and I did find a trace amount of oil in 2 of the coil pack reservoirs. I cleaned it up, but the light is still on. I live really far from an Audi dealership so for me to get the car down there is a real pain. I just had the belt changed out just over a week ago at the dealership. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

Your vehicle needs a VAG Scan.

Did you close your gas cap properly? I mean, did it "click"?

Keep the appointment because if the problem comes back at least you have a paper trail that you brought it in already for the problem.
