Re: centre muffler removal
unless u swap out the rear muffler, the only difference u will really notice is more drone in the car, i got a pair of nice magnaflow for about 200 bucks shipping, they retail for about 340 each, i put em on and they sound alot better and i notice better performance as well
example this:
does it sound good.. no.

Re: centre muffler removal
umm if you delete the mufflers there is a big difference in sound. The purpose of the mufflers is to reduce the sound, so taking them off will be loud.
example this: YouTube - ‪Audi A4 B6 1.8t muffler and resonator delete‬‏
does it sound good.. no.

His post said UNLESS you swap out the rears (or delete them, for that matter), it will not get much louder.

Re: centre muffler removal
Sorry to keep this one going, but I am trying to reach a conclusion regarding the original question.
If you delete only the center muffler (keeping the stock 2 rear resonators) and add 2 straight pipes from the split to the 2 rear resonators, what will be the effect?
Will there be an unacceptable drone from inside the vehicle?
My center muffler is shot so I have to replace it.
A replacement exhaust system is not in this years budget, LOL!
I have a used center muffler in good condition, but don't know whether to leave the center muffler out or replace it.
Can anyone please provide some concrete guidance?
Thanks in advance!

Re: centre muffler removal
Thanks for the advice, Seanf!
I think that this time around I am going to install the used muffler and hopefully it will last until I have the coins for a magnaflow catback!
