centre muffler removal
Has anyone done this on their car?? I need a new flex pipe and being under my car last week I noticed the last owner had the hangers/heat shield welded back on and the flex pipe replaced once before, so when the cars at the shop should I get the centre muffler removed as well?? Is it really loud, the car could stand to be a little louder but I don't want it to sound like a honda.

I have no specific experience with that one, but it's very unlikely to make your car much louder. Your car is only going to sound like a crappy ricer if you buy crappy ricer products
I have a 1.8T with 3" turbo-back, with only a high-flow cat and single rear muffler and it's awesome - no droning, nice and deep, aggressive but not obnoxiously loud. It took a bit of tweaking to get the perfect sound, but I think it was worth it. I say pull the muffler and see what it sounds like; if you don't like it, it won't cost much to get it put back in.
FYI, a non-turbo car will respond to exhaust changes more dramatically than a turbo car will.

Re: centre muffler removal
I currently have a 2.5" test pipe (so no cat), and 2.5" down pipe, 2.5" flex, and 2.5" straight pipe right back to where the exhaust splits in two, with the stock mufflers. It is a little louder than stock, but far from ricey. The cat delete gives a little quicker turbo spool, a louder turbo spool up, and a small boost in power.
I agree with Cheeba- remove and give it a try... If it is not to your liking, put it back.

unless u swap out the rear muffler, the only difference u will really notice is more drone in the car, i got a pair of nice magnaflow for about 200 bucks shipping, they retail for about 340 each, i put em on and they sound alot better and i notice better performance as well
