Hey all,

Well seems i have a bit of a frustrating problem. This morning i popped a cd into my deck (stock symphony II unit on a 2002 A4) and it didnt read in the cd. I turned off and turned on the radio and it seemed like it was trying to change the cd.....then it just got stuck on trying to load cd 1. After about 20 seconds it just gives me an ERROR 3 code. I think the cd just got stuck in the wrong position as it was cold this morning and i left the cds on the car seat overnight. Is there a way to open up the cd player and check? Does anyone know if i can get the removal tools for the radio anywhere besides online? Thanks.

Hey I had the same issue,

I got told to pull the fuse for the radio and leave it like that for a while then pop it back in! which worked! But you have to have the radio code for this to work!!!! The second time it happened the entire thing had to be replaced!

Damn dont like the sound of replacing it...sounds like a real pain. The first time it got jammed, what was wrong with it? when did it start happening? Cause i think my cd went in the wrong way or something and now its stuck. i'm not sure what pulling the fuse out can do but i will try it. Thanks.

Make sure you have your radio code, it will reset the memory basically and re read all discs. If its in there and you cant get it out you gotta tak eit appart my friend! And it is a bit of a pain to get in there. The first time mine jammed the CD was really scrached and one of the labels from the CD fell off and landed on the laser I guess so I air compressed it and reset the thing again and it worked

Yea i think i got the code at home. Ill give that a shot tonigh...if not then i might be in the market for a new head unit...
