I don't really want to pay for something that's covered, I already have to drop $400 to fix/paint my bumper, and that's discounted cause I know people who own a body shop.

I'm just annoyed that I keep emailing the guy and he only responded the first time, but nothing since regarding my actual question of what the heck is going on with my claim?!

So, I've emailed Audi Canada now, see if they can help me to speed the process because from VW it has to go to Audi for approval!
ive actually done the same claim about a month ago. Haven't heard back from the dealer but I might give them a call.

Again many people on the forums in canada have gotten rust issues fixed that have not made holes in the body. So keep postive, I know i am.

and yes it is Audi Canada that makes the decision. They cover the cost and the dealer will do it.

Yeah, someone else's B6 was sitting there waiting to get fixed when I first brought mine in for inspection, rust on the same lower panels on the doors.

I contacted Audi directly now though, and within a couple days they responded to me, so we'll see what happens now!

Angry Re: Body repair under warranty

UPDATE!

So, I hadn't hear back from the original dealership that I dealt with for my claim, so I contacted Audi Canada, and after a couple days they called me telling me the dealership had no record of me ever being there!

So basically, they lost my pictures and paperwork, and I've been waiting around for three months for NOTHING!

Anyways, went back to the dealership, of course I am already slightly annoyed by the fact that I've wasted three months, and NOW they are telling me my car is NOT original paint, so it's not covered!

MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN PAINTED!
I've been reading around online, and they pull this on everyone all over the world apparently.
I was reading an Audi forum from the UK as well and they told the guy his car was not original paint, so it's not covered.
I am BEYOND annoyed by this, because this is a WELL-KNOWN problem on a TON of the B6, I've also seen it on some D2 as well, where the metal clip underneath rusts and pushes out the panel!

Anyways, in conclusion, I AM NOT HAPPY!!

I don't know how I can possibly prove that my car was never painted!
Anybody have any ideas to weigh in on this?

Sorry to revive a month old posting...but any updates on this rust warranty issue?
I too have rust issues on my car (B6 A4). Notably, rust forming on the driver's door edge, right above the door blades. There's also rust bubbling up along the wheel well.
But of course, for the warranty to kick in, they want to see rust perforation from the inside out.
I decided to call the dealership today anyways. They forwarded me to an "advisor". No one picked up. Left a voice mail. So far, no return call.
Oh boy...from checking out all the forums on this topic, looks like it won't be easy to get Audi to fix this problem under warranty. Wish me luck!

Sorry to hear, and quite unfortunately, they likely won't repair it under warranty. I'm the OP of this thread, and my issue was never resolved, still have rust, and the blade popping off. I'll probably get around to fixing it next summer, just such a pain $150 per blade, plus paint. Luckily i have a family friend with a body shop to paint it for me! In my honest opinion, don't even waste your time, it's going to get no where, and then you will be even more frustrated.

They told me the "door has to be rusted" and apparently, that blade doesn't count as part of the door. Go figure

I'm not going to kid myself into thinking that Audi is going to honor their warranty and fix my rust. But at least it's worth a try.
Why, I might just wait another year until a quarter of the door's been eaten up by rust. Then see if they can refuse the warranty! (just kidding of course!)

All they are going to do is hold up this little machine against your car and say "oh sorry, according to this, you car is not factory paint, therefore your warranty is no longer valid"

that's what they told me...yet my car has never been painted
