Best time to buy a used Audi?
I am in the market for a Audi A4 Avant. I really don't see much of a consistency with pricing, it seems to be all over the place.
What should I be looking for right now? There are some pretty big price differences among the year, model, etc. Sometimes there is a difference of $10,000 and I can't see what causes such a discrepancy. I am fairly car savvy so you can save the basic explanations.
All I am looking for from you is; it's September 2009 and I want to buy a used audi wagon. Should I just be looking at 2004 models? 2006 models? etc??? What's the sweet spot? Pricing is not a huge issue but nothing over $30,000CDN.

What you want the car to look like is completey up to you. 2004 would be a B6 and 2006 would be a B7.
To get an idea of pricing have a look VMRCanada.com The used car market as it is right now, you shouldn't be paying more than the retail value and I would think closer to the wholesale. Just pick out a car you've been looking at and enter it into their system. It'll tell you whether the asking price is reasonable or not.
Hope that helps

A 2006 Audi Avant S-line 6spd price range is $22725 to $25475. There is NOWHERE that this model is going for less than $27,000. I typically see $29,900. There is no way any dealer will sell it for $25,475. Wagons are fairly rare so I guess the premium can be charged.
Thats a great site, thank you.

I will highly recommend look for a 6p manual Audi, also if you can, get it at a dealership with the CPO warranty. You will notice that you are paying a little more, but it's worth it. thats what i think. Good luck!!!
