I went to start the car and it would turn over but would not start, i got it running once out of the 40 tries but it would not idle. After checking the fuses making sure all the plug wires were on tight. I tried it again it still would'nt start. Got my wife to start it while i hit the fuel tank with a rubber mallet and it starts. Do you guys think my fuel pump is going or just a case of bad gas. And also it smelled up the garage pretty good when it did start running. I took it for a good boot and the car just purrs. Car only has 71,000 km

what made you decide to hit the fuel tank? im not saying it was bad providing to you didnt do any damage but what made you decide to start hitting it?

does your engine heat sensor work cause mine stopped working and couple months later i was having same problem got it fixed and starts perfect now. but yea it could be your ful pump but thats odd with that kinda milage feed it some fuel injector cleaner and keep it above a quarter tank
