Smile APR CHIP PERFORMANCE to GAS EFFICIENT

APR, Unitronic and other companies offers several ECU options for Audi, Porsche and VW enthusiasts.
ECU chip improves performance by increasing the turbo’s boost pressure.
The ECU chip upgrade didn’t reduce fuel economy; in fact, some people reports measured a slight increase in fuel efficiency.

- What engine and what's ECU ROM are you running?

- What's your opinion and what do you think about gas effiecent after ECU upgrade?

- Which chip is the best for gas effiecient?

- Which chip is best for performance?

Let see what people using

I have APR stage 1+. before flash, I got 7.8 - 8.2L/100km highway. Now I get 6.9 - 7.3L/100km highway.

Don't mean to thread jack too bad here, but Jordon, how do you like the single-mass flywheel? Throttle response quite a bit better along with the tune? Just curious, I am going to need a clutch sooner than later.

Anyone using ANY chip is 1st looking for added performance. Having said that ANY chip WILL extra pressure on the entire car and its components and you will have to replace at least your diverter valve.
Increasing HP requires better calipers/brakes/pads.
Never ending story pick your poison, I remain stock thank you very much

Apr stage 1 done about a week ago

Gas mileage is the same as stock, if not a bit less, since i now do a more spirited driving

Stock is alright, but it felt like it was missing something, and the APR stage 1 is a very safe performance chip to upgrade to, even 1+ is still relatively safe and allows it the car to be a reliable DD with a little go haha, hopefully i can get some $$ for the +1 this summer. but i would also get new brakes if i went 1+ haha maybe a little to much go for the stockers lol.

Make sure you change\keep an eye on your DV diverter valve with the added boost pressure. Best thing to replave with either 710N the TT's version or Forge007. Both are quite inexpensive...

I wouldn't say that the throttle response was much different... i think the revs got freed up a little, but not a HUGE difference, although i didn't get an extremely light flywheel (nor would I, as they don't drive as nice). Car is gone now though... sold it a couple weeks ago... hoping to replace it with a B5 S4 this weekend

i went stage 2+ and found the stock brakes to be more than adequate... just remember, we are still talking about a car with WELL under 250hp, not a rocket ship lol! i mean honestly, the car still stopped much better than my wifes minivan. should i run out and get a brembo BBK for her van?
i would certainly advocate the need for bigger brakes if going BT, but IMHO i think that for anything K04 or less, you can get by with stock.
if you want a mild and cheap brake upgrade, get the rotors and caliper brackets from a 3.0 B6 and you will have an extra inch or something like that.

Without going off topic...since I will be replacing my rotors and pads with Zimmerman and Okebono Ceramic rotors + flush the fluid with Pentosin Dot 4 sice my wife and I drive it like grandparents lol

My point is once you start upgrading you instinctively drive a tad more aggressive (even some are aggressive drivers even with stock) hence putting premature wear on the stock brakes. At the very least upgrade to ceramic pads but then again it all depends on every driver...
Any chip remaps/reprograms the ECU using the base turbo to be more sollicitated I think everyone has a valid point it all depends for each one what he is looking for righ?

I dont believe that the stock brakes on the 1.8T are that great .. IMO i would switch if i went 1+ or beyond , i feel like it can barely hold stage 1 when i brake, but thats just me. Sorry to go off topic!!
