Default B6 A4 XENON upgrade... need help

Can anyone tell me if Xenon ballasts off an AUDI ALL ROAD would work on my 2003 B6 A4?

The guy selling them to me said yes, but I'm not sure.

Your help and input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Johnny

Johnny

I looked up the PN on the igniter in your picture on ETKA and here is what they have to say:

Seems like that particular part was dropped in 1999.

Here is the PN for the igniter on the 2003 A4:

Tough call, it's hard to say if it would work or not but one thing is for sure is that according to ETKA the PN's don't match.
Also, the PN for the 2003 Allroad igniter is 4Z7 941 471/2.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info.

The guy selling says they are D2S, which should fit.

Spoolin - you can get xenon lights for $250? What else is required? How do you install them?

Most of the aftermarket kits don't last long, electronicly, the bulbs can't handle the intensity, so they burst..... You have to keep on replacing them. I had a BMW 540i before, than the xenon ballast malfunction, to much to get them replaced at the dealership, so I bought the oem kit.... Keep in mind it was a lot cheaper but I had to replace the bulbs many times.

By the sound of it you're upgrading from halogens to Xenons without upgrading the housings. If this is the case, no ballast would "not work" with your car, nor work with your car actually: you'd be needing adapters to put whatever bulbs you'll be using into the H7 fitting in your car. So long as the ballast are designed to work with the bulbs you'll be using, you'd be fine.

Check VVME LLC Your best Xenon HID light supplier for HID/Xenon conversion. There kits are plug'n'play and you can do it yourself. The people from AudiForums.com strongly recommend them. I will be ordering mine in the next couple of months.

Take care.
