I have the very same car. I don't know how true this is but it is recommended by the manual and the dealership to change your brake fluid every two years.

Also check the alignment but I'm going to be having a war with Agincourt Audi. They charged 250.00 + tax when other members here are claiming to have only paid 99.00 at VW and 150.00 at Audi.

Other than that, they also made me change a head gasket saying it was leaking. Which was another 500.00 I was idiotic to do this at the stealership. Only later did I find I could do this much cheaper at private and CAPABLE shops for much cheaper.

And, learn to change bulbs on your AUDI. They wanted to charge me 50 dollars labour to change the stupid headlight. Luckily I had a friend who's uncle works at VW and did it for just the cost of the bulb which was like 18 bucks. At Audi it would have cost about 70.

AND, they wanted to charge 30.00 for changing rear brake lights. I got my friend's uncle to do it for 2.80 so basically they wanted to charge me 27.00 for labour. (10 minute job)

What else....
Regards to Oil Change. I'm sure many others will agree. Do not wait the recommended 14,500 or some odd KM before changing the oil. I do it every 8000-9000. I've read in many posts that have mentioned the sludge problem with the 1.8T. Mine only has 58,000 on it now and I bought it with 50,000 off the dealership about 8 months ago and they said it was a leased car. I am 99.99% sure that the person leasing the car did the bare minimum in regards to oil change because he knew he was going to return the car.

Also, when changing air filters, don't forget the cabin filter

hmmm....
Haven't had any coilpacks go on me yet but i've read that they're a common problem, so watch out for those.

I can't think of anything else...I know you've had the car longer but i'm aanal about doing research before a big investment so i'm ok with knowing the common faults with these cars.

Thanks for you post. Funny that you mention changing light bulbs cause i the 10 months that i have the car i have had to change 7 bulbs. Everything from both break lights, revers and turn signals. i did change them myself and saved the money. Also about a month ago while driving on queens way next to Audi dealer on kipling and like a negative vibe from them one of my coils went out so i just changed all of them and plugs since its a good idea to do them together. One of my friends has a shop that is down the street from queensway audi called eurocars4166218848 so its were i get all major work done for a lot less.

well for me i do every 5k oil changes so i dont have to worry about sludge build ups or anything because i change it early. Synthetic oil should be changed at least 5k-8k. anything higher, isnt good for your engine.

ever since i got my car from the dealership (preowned car), first thing i did was change the oil and man was it darker than the colour of the **** that i poop. i had to do several flushes before i could see actually clean oil coming out of my oil pan.

another good thing to do is put seafood in your fuel tank, engine block, and intake manifold to clean out what ever shiit you got left in your engine if you havent already done so. Works wonders, and you'll notice better response, better performance, and overall fuel consumptions.

also at 100k, you might want to change the fuel filter as well, and while your down there you might wnat to change the differential and transfer case fluids to save up labour costs.

Brake fluid changes every 2 years is "recommended" by the dealer, but its not really needed.. wait till you need to replace your brake rotors and brake pads then do it.. so check with your mechanic how long ur rotors and pads can last you, and keep in mind.. the rear pads burn more than the front.. so check them out.

I think the suggestion was intended to be Seafoam.

Brake Fluid - if it is anything other than opaque yellow you should change it asap. Contaminated DOT4 fluid starts to turn green. I would strongly recommend changing fluid every two years regardless of mileage as per Audi. Brake Fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture. You want to get the moisture out of the system as it will shorten the lifespan of very expensive brake parts.

Oil Changes - Suggest change every 5K to 6K KMs on a 1.8T with synthetic to avoid sludge build-up.
