Fuel filter is a cheap replacement, why not start there? It is hard for us to diagnose the problem to be honest. Fuel pump would be more audiable in the cabin rather than the outside to my knowledge at least, as it is located below the rear seats. I would replace the fuel filter but the fuel filter should not be making noise as it has no moving parts. It is a filter at the end of the day and the fuel just flows through it.
The pump and filter will be upwards of 300 but I'm not sure. Best thing to do to start is find out the price through the dealership, then decide if you want to try and save by buying online. Just a little hint. I bought a part from the u.s. a few years ago and it ended up costing more than what the dealership was charging due to exchange rates, taxes and customs brokerage fees to get it into Canada. In most cases it's cheaper to buy from the dealership.

If you can hear the fuel pump from inside the cabin then you will DEFINITELY hear it when outside of the car as the pump is located under the rear passenger seat but accessible from underneath the car therefore it is NOT an interior component.
