Recommendation for brake pads...
Hello all,
This is my first post. I have an '04 A4 1.8T with the CVT. It has 75,000 km on it. According to the dealer it needs new rear brakes. They have quoted me $530 for the job but I thought I'd tackle it myself.
I'm not sure if it's just the pads that need replacing, or the rotors as well, but after I remove the wheels I will know. Can someone recommend decent quality pads/rotors for the car? Thanks.

Re: Recommendation for brake pads...
I like Wagner brakes, for economy pads the quickstops are good bang for your buck, I usually try for the thermoquiets if they are only a couple bucks more, also Satisfied ceramics are a good pad. For rotors go with the premium ones from your local parts store or get the ones on the car turned.

It all depends on what you're after. Mintex (Red) makes decent OEM replacement pads, and Zimmermann makes decent OEM replacement rotors. For more performance, Carbotech Bobcats are good street pads, as are Ferodo DS2500.

Auto Parts in Canada! - Canada Auto Parts Online
I got OEM Zimmerman rotors with Akebono Ceramic pads, you could also get Hawks HPS highly recommended

Rotors : Zimmerman ZINC plated, wont rust as fast as other ortors because of plating.
Pads : TRW ( They make the oem pads) but since not stamped Audi you pay a fraction of the price but still get oem quality.

If you are changing rotors\pads why would anyone get OEM pads which dust like crazy??! Just get okebono euro ceramic or hawks hps...
My rear pads and rotors are still 90% but decided to change the back as well and flushing my brake fluid with Pentosin dot 4 and call it a day!
