05 A4 drivers side factory HID intermittently off and on
My driver's side low beam factory installed Xenon headlight keeps intermittently going off and on. Typically this happens right after I brake hard to a stop or when I go around a corner at speed.
I have read that these bulbs tend to last a long, long time and my experience with bulbs are that they either work or don't so I am wondering if this could be as simple as a loose connection?
Any suggestions otherwise?

Re: 05 A4 drivers side factory HID intermittently off and on
Well, did some searching under "ballast" and it looks like that may be the problem according to other owners. Seems that there are some good aftermarket choices for both D1S bulbs and ballasts which is good because my dealer is charging $250 per bulb ($450 installed) and like $900 for a ballast.
Check out autohausaz.com for the bulb at $115
Check out Moparpartz.com (Factory part number 5139061AA for Dodge which is deemed to be the equivalent Audi part according to many posters)
And also check out this Audi Technical Service Bulletin which may give you leverage at your dealer (I haven't tried this yet) NHTSA Item Number: 10030630
Sorry but I tried to post URLs for all the suggestions above, but I am not allowed...
Good luck to all with this problem - I think that we will need it cause it looks expensive any way I see it...
