Default water temp cold

I am havin heating problems..my water temp.is not staying concistant.when on highway it drops,therefore I get no heat,must be thermostat.take to my mechanic[reliable and honest]changes thermostat and water tempture still too cool..possible put in another faulty thermostat.or can something else be causing it..just thought i ask before going back t mechanic.

You'll find answers more forthcoming on the linked fora. But remember, search. My guess would be your Tstat but you changed that already. I'm curious to know too since I have a similar problem and was going to change the Tstat.

Interested to know the answer as well.

Either faulty thermostat or your system is clogged up - flush your heater core and cooling system.

okay my water temp is now at cositent 90 cent,,but heat comes on for 10 seconds then cold

Heater Core is plugged.

Could try a reverse pressure flush of the Core but most likely need to replace heater core meaning a dash pull.

This.

OP: When you say temp is a constant 90 now, did you do anything to the car or did that just happen on its own?

i screwed aroundwith wiring on sensor by the thermostat,so i think it was an electrcal....i am also havin lots of computor problems.air bag light sometimes on abs light on.so thats why i think that maybey heating is a computer problem..i will flush heater core..

screwed around with wiring on sensor on thermostat,now steady 90o also have computer problems ,air bag and abs light on,,thats why i think heating might be screwed cause of computer,,,will try flush
