Spacers or not???

Spacers or not???
Hey everyone, I want your opinion about something... i recently bought some Hurricane (Vagare Luxury Wheels) 18in mounted on 235/40ZR18. I want the wheels to be as large as the car or about a 1/2in larger. I haven't tried the wheels yet but a i guess that even on 235 it won't be a 1/2 larger so spacers would be a goos solution. Spacers would be for esthetic purpose only and not for performance. Though i've heard spacers aren't so safe even if they are hub centric.... is it true in my case ??? So would it be a good idea to put spacers on to get a great look ????
I've got a 98 A4 1.8T 2WD
I would like my car to look like the 4th picture from behind ... are spacers the solution or 235tires would be wayyy enough??
Thanks!

DAMN, some bling bling. Personally not a big fan of so much chrome but it all comes down to the offset of your rims. So, look in the back of your rim and find a number with ET written beside it. That will tell you how far the rims will stick out just by themselves.
An ET of 35 will be flush(ish). So, find out what you have first.

Re: Spacers or not???
Yeah i got a ET of 35 ... this mean that just by the width and offset of the wheels it will get flush right ? So i could put like ...10-12mm spacers and it would be perfect what you think ?
*I am not a big fan of chrome either... especially when the car color is pearl white haha! But i almost got those wheel AND BRAND NEW TIRES for free (400 bucks total wheels+tires) so i can't complain hehe!!

Re: Spacers or not???
the car in the 4th pic is lowered, and looks like it's got the fenders flared. i could be wrong.. i have 18's on mine too, and it's got a lot of fender gap cuz it's not lowered. just be prepared for that.
and anything is better than those stocks you got on there. i unfortunately still have a set of those for winter.. brutal

Stick them on. See for yourself and go from there. I think 10 up front and 15 in the back is what you're looking for. My winters are ET35 and I could prolly use 10mm in the back. The front is fine without.

Re: Spacers or not???
Yah of course on 4th picture there isn't much fender gap but that's not what i'm looking for ... i just want my wheels to be as large of 1/2 inch larger then fenders (1/2 to 3/4 inch larger would be perfect) ... even if my car isn't lowered i can get my wheels ar large as the a4 on the 4th pic ... i just needed to know if spacers were necessary and what size (5mm, 7mm, 10mm, 12mm ... ?)
Also feel free to post some pics of your car ... it might help!

Re: Spacers or not???
hehe i have thouse exact rims( your stock) right now for the winter, they suck sooo much. I dont think your car needs spacers, it will look good without it. The 4th's tires are waay too wide, it actually loks bad in my opinion. The back wheels come out way too much. I say skip the spacers. Without them you should get a perfect look. Wide tires are something im also getting for the summer, but look closely at it, the wheels don;t look good at all, in fact the car would look photoshoped lol. Unless you want to widen them for performance, which you dont, i say skip the bloody things.
