Shifting Help! PLEASE!!
Hey guys, so i have the 2000 B5 A4 1.8T Quattro, so i was at a stop light without knowing i put the car in third gear, THOUGH thinking it was in first i started driving the car as if it was going into first gear. The car started shaking alot. But i stopped and put it back into first. I didn't smell any burining or hear any grinding of the gears if you guys can tell me if its really bad for the car F up the clutch or transmission. I know its really emberassing but i am really worried PLEASE HELP!!

Trying to start in 3rd instead of 1st is harmless, don't worry about it.
The only way to hurt a manual transmission is to shift down or into reverse when you're revving high, or wearing the clutch out
