Power sunroof reset?

Power sunroof reset?
Can anyone tell me how to reset the sunroof motor on an Audi A4 1996 2.8 Quattro. I have replaced the motor and put a new switch in but can't find the procedure for resetting the thing and it therefore only partially responds to the new switch. And yes I am sure it is not the switch leads not connecting.
If anyone knows where to find the sunroof reset procedure I would be greatfull.

Re: Power sunroof reset?
Oh man I got it somewhere at home, I will look it up, but I think it goes something like this...
turn key to pre ignetion stage... turn the **** all the way to fully open and hold beyond the regualr return point until the roof is fully open. turn key off for 5 secs... turn back on do this in the oposite direction till the sunroof closes. now push the **** up and back down for the tilt feature and turn key off it should be programed. if it doesent work I will get you the right thing tonight

Re: Power sunroof reset?
Alright so here is the proper procedure now that I got home if the above one doesn't work.
Procedure is only for an already installed sunroof, (for new sunroof contact me)
1) Remove the interior light. Leave the rotary switch connected. Set the rotary switch to position one or two(comfort or fully open positions). During opening of the sunroof panel, remove the power supply plug of the sunroof motor. Switch off the ignition and remove the key.
2) Turn the sunroof rotary switch to position zero (closed). wait 30 seconds. Reconnect power supply plug to the motor and switch on ignition.
3) Turn the rotary switch quickly from closed to any open position and go back to closed position. Wait until the sunroof panel is closed and the clicking of the relay can be heard from the sunroof motor
4) within the next 5 seconds, pull the rotary switch (pull the lug of the ****). Hold the pulling function until the sunroof tilts, opens, and returnes to the closed position. It may take 8-10 seconds for roof movement to commence.
5) after the programming switch off the ignition for at least 15 seconds.
6) Check sunroof's functions,
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Ok it has taken me a while to get back to this however I have tried and so have many of my friends to follow the instructions you gave and reset the sunroof, however we have all come to the conclusion that this model must be different. Are you sure the instructions you gave me are for the 1996 Audi A4 2.8L Quattro?
Sorry to complain just cant seem to figure it out. Even a seasoned mechanic buddy of mine is convinced the procedure is for another model however I would like to seek your advice.
Thanks

Re: Power sunroof reset?
I still did not get the proper reset procedure from you and with summer coming back I am anxious to see if I can get it to work. Any chance you were able to find the correct functions?
