Newbie Question: Swapping the factory Audio head Unit
I am considering swapping the factory Audio head Unit with an after market unit. Just so I can have the option os popping in an mp3 cd or USB stick and listen to music.
My question is how easy is it to this ? Because I keep hearing about special wiring harness required to convert an after market to the audio audio system. Also will I be able to use the cd-changer with the after market unit.
If so any one have had Best Buy done this ? I know these guys are not the smartest when it comes to doing technical work, but has any one done it through them ?
Reason I am asking is they provide free install with the purchase of the unit.

Re: Newbie Question: Swapping the factory Audio head Unit
I got mine done at a friend's shop, I put in a USB deck. And the guy told me that I wouldn't be able to use the cd changer in the back anymore, but I didn't care anyways!! I'm not sure about the Best Buy service though...

You're getting a deck installed not your oil changed. Worry not, the guys know their stuff.
Piecez -- don't have a CD changer so is it all a matter of swapping the units? Or does it involve a change of harness? I have a Pioneer lying around so I could change it over the weekend.
NO, I do not have the tool for taking the stocker out.
Anyone???

Just be extra careful not to feed 12V or ground to the k-line as this cant prevent scanners from being able to communicate with the ecus of the car. We see this at least 5 or 6 times per year at the shop. (you can even fry a scanner that is not protected).
