hmm its a funny thing...i gave it to this mehanic that originally quoted me less than 1k so i agreed, that was fine.. to my understanding of this whole situation is that they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it..so they took it to a audi specialist..then i was told that they took it there.." to get a newer maf sensor cuz they sold an non proerly working one.,,,then they gave a bill of 15oo to the original ppl that i dealt with.,.,now im stuck..,is there somethng fishy about this?? when oi was told they had my car,since i work right around the block so almost every lunch time igo see my car..but when it wasnt there i asked..then they told me..so understand?? there r 2 garages that i have t deal with.,,.the 2nd garage ended up "fixing my timing belt.. cuz it was 4 notches off, but earlier this year i just got a 90k newer engine put in..ii cracked my engine block..(its another story)lol so//... things just dont add up

That is ridiculous. They had no right to take it to the other place without you knowing it, let alone start working on it. The whole scenario is very fishy! Sounds like they are just ripping you off. An timing belt bulshit sounds like a load of ***. I would trace the paperwork, and see if anything make sense, if anything try to do a bit of research on the automotive mechanical laws in your area and see if they broke anything. There are alot of things people dont know about shops. My buddy takes auto at his college and they have a pretty big law class on dos and dont's.
And on top of that , they took it to a dealer???????? Are they ****ing insane? That defeats the purpose of you going to them to begin with!!!

hmm, could be a leak. Most shops do free diagnostics so you can bring it in and ask if there is something wrong.

Did they quote you first? The law in canada is that there is only so much more you can charge past the quote given. I forgot the precentage, but it was about 10 - 20. So there fore if they gave you qoute for 1000, they cant charge you more then 1200 lets say. thats purely illegal. Look it up in your location, you might be able to get out of it, considering how they did not even warn you before making their own decisions!
