Re: Aftermarket radio question
alright, thanks. i just thought it would be harder seeing as the the cd player isnt part of the radio.
found a diy for a double din. for some reason i thought the cd player and buttons on the sides were not part of the radio. also, look at that diy makes me want to take it in to get it done.

Re: Aftermarket radio question
Do you have a link to the DIY? It is all one unit on the 2001. You will need to get 4 keys to take the radio out. Install the dash kit, wiring harness and new stereo. Not much different than another dash kit install. I thought you were more than qualified? Come on... you can do it!!! If you run into problems then post up here. Also if anything goes wrong down the road or if you want to install an amp and sub down the road, you will know exactly how it is installed and won't have to take it in to get your future installs done. Just saying.

Re: Aftermarket radio question
why do you needa diy head unit install when you already have it? dont you need a diy speakers?
either way, i didnt end up even getting my dads car because i moved to edmonton alberta instead.

Re: Aftermarket radio question
Pioneer AVIC D3 was popular on the B5. It gave a very modest stock look with great features. I was planning to get Pioneer x710BT or something like that before, BUT i cant justify the price tag.
