i have an 2002 a4 quattro 1.8 238,000 kms

I have had lots of problems. Recently i found the sensors break. i was at the mechanic today and he tells me that the camshaft sensor needs replacing.

I plan to spend 1500 per year on repairs, but given that the car is only worth about 6000 - 8000 , i feel i may as well just keep it at this point.

it does still look good and drives well.

i would say an Audi and a Honda are polar opposites in terms of reliability

I am curious , where do you have your car repaired?

(I am not sure if I REALLY love my car or i am just convincing myself that I do)

I only use Independent tuning

they fix cars, tune cars, also do the maintenance.

bit cheaper than dealers but more reliable than dealers.

go for it.

I personally think that maintenance costs are relatively high, so...

if you have a deep pocket, go for it. otherwise...

my car is 04 a4 at 92xxx bought it 7 month ago and spent more than 2000 for maintenance already (timing and waterpump too).

oh well, but this is just meee...

Unhappy Re: A4 Reliability

I am curious

My engine light was on, and burning lots of gas, some hesitation on starting.
A check revealed 3 faults..my mechanic said i needed to replace the Camshaft Position sensor..and "lets hope it fixes the faults"...if not he said we may need a new Catilytic Converter....

well the car does ride better but still burning too much gas..Could it be the Cat?

I just had my car Drive Cleaned and it passed!..so I am thinking, it couldnt be the Catilytic Converter

Any Thoughts out there?

I am in Markham area

Thanks!

Coil Packs: you will know when one goes... the car drives in 3 cylinders!

sounds to me most of the problems are with the 1.8t rather then the 3.0

I've been lucky so far with my 3.0...just the starter has gone..but I'm hearing a little noice with the suspention...esp when going over speed bumps....any Idea's? My warrenty is up in 4 months & would like to see what it is & if they would fix under warrenty.
