Question a4 b5 1.8t headlights issue

I've had problems with my headlights before, and resolved by changing the headlight switch, but it seams that now its come back and i cant figure out whats going on. So this is what happens: it all works fine on position 0 as its supposed to be, same with position 1 of the headlight switch, but position 2 turns off the headlights but keeps everything else inside working, so only headlights (including fog lights and high beams). High beams work only if I flash.

First of all: Is there any way to detect headlights issues through vag-com?

Second of all: Could it be a relay? Is there any way to check this without pulling the relay out?

Third of all: could it be the switch?

4th: does anyone have a diagram of the switch?

Note: I still have the switch I pulled out last time and checked it as much as possible and everything seams to work on it!?!?! there are no broken/melted plastic pieces inside (i opened) the contacts are good, mechanically its sound, electrically seems that it should work.

Any ideas?

Thank you....
