Default A4 2001 upper control arms

Hello all,
I need new upper control arms. Has anyone bought the kit from Blauparts? What's your opinion?
What are your other choices for purchasing these parts? Dealer is e$$pensive.
Cheers,
OVRSTR

When you say kit do you mean that you're going to replace the uppers and lowers? what engine do you have?

Oh wait, nm, I see that they have the uppers kits for like 100 bucks each. Thats a good price, and usually blau has good quality parts. I don't know if I've ever used made in italy parts but I'm sure they are fine. The question I would ask is do those kits come with ball joints and bushing??

Don't forget that If you ship from the states you have to deal with shipping, duties and brokerage fees. When you deal with blau they don't factor in brokerage and duties in their shipping quote. You get billed for that later by fed ex or whoever.

You could check out ecstuning for a comparison, and they have candaease shipping which factors in duties and brokerage fees.

There is also autopartsway, which would be free shipping, but I had a look and it seems like they only have the front position control arms.

Thanks Rusty for your replies.
I have the 2.8 motor. I need to replace my uppers control arms.
My mechanic said to get the FEBI/Bilstein kit if possible.
The kit has the following:

4 - Front Upper Control Arms
4 - Front Lower Control Arms
2 - Upgraded Tie Rod Ends
2 - Front Sway Bar Links
All associated nuts and bolts.
499$ U.S.

I found one on a website called pure motorsport and was going to buy it.
I will check out the other two website stores you mentioned.
Cheers,
Ovrstr.

Hi guys,
I just found another kit on Deutscheparts on ebay. I emailed them asking where it was made, they said made in Germany. But the price is half-only 247.50 U.S.
The kit include 12 peices, very complete for upper control arm, tie rods and sway bar links.
Has anyone bought products from Deutsche parts?
Anything else I should ask, or watch for.
Cheers,
Ovrstr

Hey guys,
I've had my new control arm kit on the car for a few weeks now. It rides and handles a lot better. The kit is well worth the extra $ IMHO.
I drove to Ogdensburg to pick it up and only paid 70$ duty to bring it back.

Wondering how your control arms held up.....

I installed a complete new set of Ocap (pronounced o-crap) from Blauparts last June '09. Completely gone. Shot. kaput.

Right now investigating which brand is next. I believe ZF (Loemforder) is the OE supplier, so I'll spend the Extra $$$. The originals lasted 7+ years.

As i said above, i went with the FABI/Blisten kit. It still works like a dream and i put 70k a year on my car. Lowered and with 19inch rims and still not a single problem. Only cost 699 for the whole kit and well worth it.
