You can drill a hole through the firewall. Tools needed: drill, with extension. I chose this route because it was faster, but there is another where you find an existing hole. It requires more work but is less worrisome because you don't have to drill. I was going to write up an instruction guide but I'm a bit lazy today so here's one from another forum with pics.

The high low converter he mentions is only needed if you are going to amp up the front speakers. But for rear and subs, the signal is already low level so therefore the converter isn't necessary.

so in short..

Splice the wires on my rear driver side speaker, hook-up 2 RCA connectors and run that to my amp.

The white is a remote wire, so I can use that to toggle my amp on and off, right?

I already have a heavy wire running from my battery to my trunk from my old amp.

Reason I ask..

My current setup is my rear passenger side trunk speaker spliced, hooked up to an RCA convertor, run to my amp.
Power cable from battery -> amp in trunk
Amp is a signal sensing amp so it turned on shortly after detecting signal in my rear speakers.

So I can hook this up a **** load better.... without running anymore wires by just splicing into my existing?!

just get signal for the rca converter from the right speaker . then skin a little of the white wire from the left speaker for the remote and that shoud do it . i found a hole in my car that made it super easy for the 12v amp cable to go through . if you need pictures or anything just post and we will help .

Correct. It sounds like you even have a new power cable that would be appropriate to run a heavier amp. The white wire should be your remote wire.

yeah thanks to you haha. i didnt want to splice the whole hardness to get RCA signal though cuz i still wanted the rear speakers to work so i got a converter and got signal from the right speaker(driver side).

If I understand you correctly you want to know if you should go 1 amp or 2 amps. The answer depends on how much power you want to run in total. You may need 2 amps to deliver let says 2000 watts of power. However, you would need to run another power line to service the extra amp. The set up I outlined is based on using the existing wire and the gauge is thin but fine for one amp. So if you want to keep the installation easy, use a good 4 channel amp. Let me know if you need more guidance.

yeah really i just wanted to know if the wires that are there could handle running a 4ch, 800W amp to run 2 sets of componat speakers for the front a rear. then just run another power line from the batt for an amp to the sub.
