Hey guys, last week i was driving and all of a sudden my car just started to choke and a light came on EPC. After i turned the car off and turned it on twice, the car began to choke but this time started driving. As it started driving the light turned off and cars engine went back to normal. Today it is driving absolutely fine and everything is great. However, i would like to know what that means and what it is all about?

It's most likely the engine speed sensor malfunctioning. It's happened to me and eventually, your car will stall when it comes to a complete stop. Then your CEL will stay on. To find out for sure, find a shop and have them scan the car with vagcom.

The dealership will charge roughly $450 to have it fixed (parts included, on the 1.8T A4). There are DIY's online that you can follow to save a few bucks if you are comfortable with working under the car.
