Advice on catback exhaust selection
Hi,
as you can probably tell by this thread I'm new to the forums and Audi as a brand. I'm looking for advice on the best choice for a catback exhaust on my 2007 S4 which is now my daily driver. It seems Fast Intentions and Magnaflow are the two most popular I've come across, but just wanted to confirm this.
Also, if anyone has a quality catback exhaust in the GTA please PM me as I'm looking.
Thanks.

Re: Advice on catback exhaust selection
Ok good to know, but I found a lightly used magnaflow for a good deal locally and already installed it last night. It sounds nice and deep and I was getting better gas mileage on the highway today but if I'm honest, I'm disappointed in how quiet it is.
So JHM down pipes with high flow cats to make things louder? Id prefer to not tune the ECU but do I have to with aftermarket down pipes and HFCs?
Thanks

I'd imagine if you are looking to utilize and get the most out of your exhaust, then yes. The high flow cats may throw a code as well.
In short, get a tune.

You've narrowed it down to the two best options
The key for performance is:
2.5" stainless steel
x pipe crossover
straight through mufflers
The Fast intentions is the best option and design is by far the best for performance, but Magnaflow is a good budget option at about $750.
If it were me? If I had no budget, I would buy Fast Intentions, Resonated (that's actually what I bought 4 years ago for my B7 S4).
If I had a budget and needed to be around $800 or something, I would patiently wait for a USED Fast Intentions system.

Re: Advice on catback exhaust selection
Already running a magnaflow with piggie pipes and pretty happy with the noise which is nice and deep but just loud enough.
Looks like I did end up taking the budget route but I'm now saving for the JHM short throw shifter and 93 tune so the mod list continues..
