Default winter tire choice

Im new to this site and new to Audi! so i apologize if this is a dumb question.
I get my 2012 s4 on Monday and am scrambling to find the best winter tire & rim combo so that i don't have to stare at my new car until tire rack gets them to me (3 weeks almost).

I live in Edmonton AB, and were already dipping below zero and expecting snow this week.
The local dealer wants close to 3k for the stock set up, and im just looking to see if anyone else knows of a better route.

id appreciate any feedback or advice.

Thanks

I used my stock 18" for my winter rims and purchased 19's aftermarket for summer. I went with Yokohama Wdrive as my winter and love them.

I'm thinking about swapping out my 18" winter wheels for a new set...I'll let you have my old ones really cheap to save you some cash that way, email me at
mchubes @ gmail .com (no spaces ) if you want some pictures of them.

You need to consider if you want to keep the wheel size at 18 for winter or if you want to downsize to 17's.

If you want to keep using the oe rims for winter, consider going to costo for tires (they'll put them on for dirt cheap, provided ur a member) or kijiji for used tires + indy shop to install.

If you want a full set of rims/tires, shop around to indy tire shops in your area, you can probably get a decent set under $2k intalled taxes in.

Couple of things to note if you're not going to the dealer and buying new rims elsewhere: i) the bore hole size of the B8's is 66.6, which is larger than the 57.1 which were on B7's and older a4's; ii) the oem audi rims use ball seat lug bolts, but most aftermarket replica rims will use cone seat lugs so you may need new lugs if you're going that route.

Your cheapest and fastest route is probably to get some 18 blizzaks at costco imo.

I am in Regina and conditions are comparable to Edmonton. I use the 19" wheels that came with my S-Line A5 for my winter wheels and put Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 255/35R19 all around. It's been an amazing combination so far this winter.

You can see it here - https://www.audiforum.ca/wheels-tires-72/winter-rims-tires-installed-bring-snow-66960/

I ran out of options and the wait got the best of me!
i checked with 1010 and tirerack and they both said due to the size and the current demand i was looking at close to 3 weeks.

i talked the dealer into giving me the last year 18" sport pkg s4 rim on rubber (for a few hundred bucks more with storage and the tire totes then i could find anywhere locally or online).
Gott them cheaper than they were offering the stock 5 spoke rim set up, so happy there, but still took bit of a hit... either way, i get my car on friday!

thanks for all the help
