Where to Buy a new S4??
Ok all you B8 S4 owners. A friend here at work is looking for a new car and is undecided on the S4 or the 335. He loves my B7 S4 and has taken both desired vehicles out for a drive. He is leaning towards the S4 but the cost difference is a consideration.
Where can he get the best deal? What options should he most def get? What did you all pay for your B8 S4 and were there any options thrown in?
Any info I can pass along would be great. Hopefully we have another member soon.
Thanks

Re: Where to Buy a new S4??
I`m actually in the same boat as your friend - deciding between the 3 series BMW or the 2011 Audi S4. When my dad gave his X5 in for checkup, the BMW dealership gave him a 3 series with x-drive for the day and I absolutely loved the handling of it. I`ve never driven an Audi before, so have no clue how the handling is, but I hope it is on par with the BMW 3 series. But, the style of the S4 is the most captivating for me, which is why I`m more interested in the S4.

Re: Where to Buy a new S4??
Also, if anyone has any information about the 2012 S4, I would love to hear it. There isn`t any info on audi.ca website, but I like the new MMI that slides out and hope they include that in the 2012 S4 model...

Re: Where to Buy a new S4??
Thanks for the reply. I was considering the 2012 A6 because it has the new MMI, but I don`t think it would be appropriate for someone as young as myself to be driving an A6. The S4 seems like the perfect fit for me and new MMI is not a deal breaker, just something I really liked.
As for the backup camera, I find them quite useless - my dad`s X5 has one and I barely use it!
Once the 2012 models are released, how much of a reduction in price will the 2011 models incur?

If he's looking for a deal on a car, he can contact Dave Mair at Oakville Audi or Alex F at Mississauga Audi. Both guys are good to deal with, and are very fair. Feel free to give my name to make sure they both know who they're dealing with as I've referred a few people to each guy.

Re: Where to Buy a new S4??
My experience:
In autumn of 2010, I got quotes for a 2011 S4 via email from 3 dealers: Oakville, Pfaff, Midtown. They all came in with between 1% and 1.5% discount to MSRP. I asked Oakville and Pfaff to sharpen their pencils, Oakville refused and Pfaff dropped significantly more, to about 3% discount.
One difference was that Oakville was quoting on a car that was on a ship on the way to Halifax, and Pfaff was quoting a car in inventory. Perhaps that has something to do with the difference. The cars were similarly equipped.
3 series vs S4:
If the AWD is important to you, read about the X-Drive. As I recall, it is a much less sophisticated system than the Audi Quattro.

Re: Where to Buy a new S4??
Thanks for the advice guys.
I'll be getting serious about shopping around in a couple of months when I sell my 2001 Suzuki Esteem (!). I will likely buy a new car either late December or early January. I've never driven an Audi before so have no idea how the handling is like compared to the X-Drive in BMW machines, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker.
On a slightly different note, I was wondering what you all think about the age factor to drive certain cars. If I had it my way, I'd get the A7. But I suspect a 24 year old driving around in mature-looking cars like the A6, A7, and the A8 may not seem too appropriate. The S4, though, whilst maintaining elegance, allows for a slightly sportier (and therefore, youthfully appropriate) look. What are your opinions regarding this? I read somewhere that a young person driving expensive cars simply looks wasteful and immature, so that is why I am reluctant.
Thanks all for the advice.
