Default Purchasing a used S4

Looking to buy a used S4 in the next week, have taken it for a few test drives and it was just flat out fun.

Here's my question. Most of my driving is up and down the DVP/404, for a good 2 hours a day. I'm curious if the stiff/sporty ride is going to wear on me with day to day driving, and what other people's experiences are? I'm coming from a Lexus, which is boring as all heck to drive, but very comfortable, so I was hoping for a sportier drive but not if it's going to give me a pain in the back!

It has the sport differential with the "Dynamic/Comfort/auto" option. I believe this is the $1500 option vs the $4k option? You also have some adjustments in the MMI, but I can't recall if the suspension could be adjusted to be softer.

I was looking at the A6, but would want the 2012 or the 2011 535xi, however both are a good $15 to $20k higher, and really not interested in spending that right now, and the S4 was a blast to drive in terms of sporty feel.

Thoughts?

My concern wouldn't be the suspension (that said, I got coilovers and made it stiffer so my tolerance may be much higher than yours). My concern would be the bumper to bumper traffic of the 404/DVP. How much fun are you actually going to get out of the S4 when moving at 5 km/h? Don't buy an S4 for commuting. Buy the S4 for spirited driving.

My driving is similar to yours. You have nothing to worry about, S4 has the most comfortable seat I have ever sat on.

Yeah, I hear you. Except I figure I'll be bored in any car I'm in given that drive, so always make sure to get the best sound system possible. The S4 I'd hope would make weekend/evening drives much less mundane!

Thanks, the seats do seem quite nice. Going to pick up the car again today for a couple hours and drive it around at a much more sane pace than the last time. Who knew one could hit 170km/hour from 60km/hour in a few short seconds? Just hope if I get this thing I won't get too many tickets, ticket free for the most part in the Lexus.

The S4 doesn't have the best sound system but it's ok if you're not an audiophile. (then again, maybe the B8s have a better system than the B7s).
As for speeding, just be careful. I'm sure you're aware that getting caught doing 50 over the speed limit results in license and vehicle suspension with a max $10,000 fine.

Forgot to ask, what kind of mileage are you getting with that drive?

here's something helpful...avg fuel consumption numbers for around 600,000 miles driven for B8 S4 owners
