Default Brake pads set vs ceramic brake pads?

Has anyone replaced their brakes pads, rotors, etc from Audi dealership? If so, what did it cost you for front and back set.
Has anyone used ceramic brake pads and, if so, what has your experience been with them.
Look forward to any feedback.

I plan on ordering either EBC Yellows or Akibonos when I replace mine.

Also looking at the new JHM lightweight rotors, but still need to determine whether they'll stand up to track duty

My front pads had 25% left and they have a sensor mind you once they reach the critical point...was in for a recall at my stealership and of course they tried to convince me to do at the same time a complete brake job, replacing all 4 rotors and pads for something like $900 if I recall correctly...
That is when I found out my trusted local independent Audi specialist who has been in the Audi world for over 30 years. I save a ton of money on labor and he orders everything OEM...
For that particular order, I placed my order online with auto parts way Canada
I got OEM Zimmerman plain rotors and Akebono euro ceramic pads delivered and installed 1 hour labor for practically 50% off from the dealer quotation.

If you do some research and reading on this great site along with audizine, audiworld...etc you will realize that most do this basic upgrade for our B6 with either Akebono or if you want something a bit more "hard core" hawks hps

Ceramic pads improve greatly stopping power, almost non existent noise and above all practically eliminating that annoying brake dust...sometimes weeks pass by before you start noticing brake dust on your rims lol
At the same time replace your brake fluids as well and enjoy your Audi for a long time...

I forgot to add this:
See your dealer for any warranty related and or recall job
Other than that why would you get literally robbed unless you really have money to burn and enjoy that much their "free" cappuccino/croissant/fruits & showroom.... a trusted independent Audi mechanic will use the same parts while saving 50% on labor rate...

I'd like ceramics to replace mine. The brake dust is brutal on these oem. After the last cruise my front rims looked gunmetal finish!

I put ceramics on my 04 TT S-Line, and I would never go back to the OEM dust-makers. Any little brake dust that I get easily washes off. I got EBC Reds.

Where did you grab the EBC Reds from? I am debating between them and hawks. I can't deal with the dust anymore and the noise.

Picked up a set of front Hawk pads from Amazon ($155) shipped and duty included. Installed them myself this weekend, it was a very easy/smooth installation. So far so good.

How long did it take you to install? Had you done it on other cars before? The brake dust is driving me nuts!
